Pacquiao v Mayweather

This fight is so important that it cannot be allowed to slip off the radar.  Please bookmark this page and return regularly, we will post the latest news and information on this proposed fight as we receive it. We are committed to getting the news out there that this fight has to happen!

These two names are legendary in boxing up there alongside LaMotta & Robinson, Duran & Leonard, Ali & Frasier . The difference is that so far this has been the greatest grudge match that never was…and may never be.
And in our opinion this much needed fight has already been delayed for long enough, if it doesn’t become finalised soon either or both fighters might just retire. It is a tragedy for boxing that Pacquiao vs Mayweather Jr – the true pound for pound best boxer contest – might never take place.

Floyd in the ring is pure class, undefeated in 41 professional fights 25 coming by way of knockout. In his fight against our own Ricky Hatton in December 2007 he showed his speed, agility and punching power taking Hatton out in 10 rounds. Ricky may not ever have been in Floyd’s league but hes always had a strong punch and a strong chin and Mayweather looked a little rattled in the earlier rounds as Hatton kept on powering forward. Floyd showed his class by keeping a level head and knocking Ricky out in the 10th – a truly classy performance leaving Hatton dejected to have had his unbeaten record taken from him.

The Hatton Pacquiao fight in May 2009 saw Hatton drop back to light welterweight to take on Manny Pacquiao at a weight that he felt was his. British boxing fans watched on in horror as Hatton was saved by the bell after being floored in round 1 and the fight was stopped in the 2nd round after Manny dropped him with a left hook. Hitman Hatton has never fought again since this undeniable battering at the hands of the Filipino Pac Man.

Floyd Mayweather of course has watched the Hatton Pacquiao fight countless times and must have realised that it took Manny just 2 short rounds to do the same is it took him 10 rounds to achieve. Since that time boxing has not been able to come close to getting a date fixed for the fight that the whole world wants to see.

Mayweathers continued requests for random blood tests to be taken from Manny right up to the proposed fight are causing this event not to happen, Manny doesn’t want to agree to a blood test within 48 hours of the fight and Floyd wont agree to fight without it. For the sake of boxing and all the fans out there we hope that these two great fighters can resolve this trivial issue, pull on their gloves, get on with the fight, earn their money and settle the pound for pound best fighter debate once and for all!
